shrewsbury horse-drawn carriage parade
Around twenty horse-drawn vehicles will join a procession from Attingham Park to The Quarry in Shrewsbury this Sunday for the annual Shrewsbury Carriage Parade.

The parade will start in the grounds of Attingham Park at 12 noon and proceed via Cross Houses, the A458 and Wenlock Road to the Lord Hill Column where the smallest carriages will join the procession. All the carriages will then enter the town via Abbey Foregate, English Bridge and Town Walls.

Arrival time at the Welsh Bridge/Victoria Quay entrance to The Quarry is estimated at 1pm and the parade will then rest in The Quarry (near to the Hercules statue) for about 45 minutes.

The carriages then return to Attingham Park to arrive at about 2.30pm on the lawn in front of the house.

The parade is part of the town’s contribution to the national Heritage Open Days programme.
